Resumo: Neste estudo teórico-reflexivo, nos propomos a investigar a construção de versões de masculinidades rurais a partir de uma leitura do romance Grande sertão: veredas, de Guimarães Rosa. Para tanto, recorremos aos conceitos de masculinidade hegemônica, propostos por Connell, e performatividade, elaborado por Butler. A pesquisa percorre três eixos ordenadores: 1) uma breve exposição sobre as abordagens em masculinidades, resgatando sua gênese nas teorias feministas que inauguraram os estudos de gênero; 2) os processos de generificação na perspectiva da construção da masculinidade rural; 3) uma leitura da relação entre Riobaldo e Diadorim. Destacamos que gênero não se subsome a uma substância, embora reproduza efeitos substanciais, percebidos em distintas versões da masculinidade hegemônica performadas pelo bando de jagunços personificados na epopeia rosiana.

Identifying which social representations of family members of patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) about the ICU and the hospitalization process and analyzing the implications of these for their everyday life. Method: this was a qualitative study based on the Theory of Social Representations. Results: the Statements of the relatives were synthesized in four themes: the perception of family members with respect to ICU; the family of the suffering of daily life; the "technological shock"; Religiosity: Hope of Salvation. Conclusion: through all the above was possible to observe the importance of looking for ways to understand and respond more humanized and warmly family lying in a hospital setting.

Objective: understanding the social representation of women about cervical cancer and its implications for
care of themselves. Method: this is a qualitative study of a descriptive approach that used as a theoretical
role the social representations, taking the interview as a technique for data collection of information. We
worked with 35 outpatient women of a referral public hospital in oncology. Results: within the dialogs it
was observed that the concept of cervical cancer was closely related to the feeling factor, leading fear and
sadness. The evidences also showed that women focused on sexuality and treatment as a life change along
the disease. Conclusion: cancer of the cervix produces a great change of life in women who passed through
the problem, not just by the physical factors, but quite by the subjective side in fighting the disease.
